Even in the face of recession, the wireless industry continues to grow as a vast majority of the US population is using a mobile phone. A new report finds the use of a cell phone in public places is a big annoyance for many people, but the report also found that people won't be hanging up anytime soon.
"There is a reason for the mute your phone or send calls to voicemail," said Sam Grobart, personal technology editor of the New York Times. The survey found that 91 percent of adults said they see cell phone use in public places. Karen Baden says her husband is on his phone almost all of the time. "He needs the phone every minute. It's all he does. I would be very happy to have a nice lunch without a phone," she said.
