360-Degree Conferencing Camera Introduced As Part of Microsoft's VoIP Strategy

As a part of its VoIP strategy Microsoft has come up with a 360 degree camera designed for video conferences called RoundTable which has emerged from a back burner project called RingCam from Microsoft's laboratories.

The RoundTable camera which would be placed on top of a conference table would enable the remote participants to see the face or faces of the active speakers as they assume the floor. Participants who might get tired of the angle changes during heated arguments might prefer the optional panorama view. Documents and powerpoint slides could also be featured into the picture, synchronized with cues provided by the speakers.

Initially the concept of video conferencing was new to me but due to the change in technologies I felt that work and the performance of business can be effectively be increased positively due to the investment I made in more than one telepresence room.
