The phone pictured to the left, the Linksys SPA-942, runs for around $149. It's quite a nice IP phone, at least for the price point. I have the cheaper SPA-941, which lacks Power over Ethernet and a backlit screen.
For $50 more, you can also become your own VoIP provider. Flat Planet Phone makes it really easy for you to start your own voip provider. They do all the work except deciding what features you will expose to your customers, setting prices, and selling the service.
In addition to getting the IP Phone, you also get $200 off services and products from VoIP Supply. Even if you're not looking to be a VoIP provider, this is quite a deal. However, when you see how easy it is to be the next Vonage, you might just give it a shot!

Dameon, Thanks for mentioning our offer. However we are actually offering resellers to be more than the next Vonage! Vonage is a basic dial tone replacement. We offer a full hosted pbx, fax to email, conferencing and more features. So when you start a phone company with us, you can offer a solution with much more than Vonage:-)
I’m following VoIP news with great interest, and your site came up on a Google news alert today; interesting the different ways to get VoIP as well as the various products and capabilities offered. With the Global Freedom phone, you have the option to purchase a video phone for $294 which is really cool; the service is only $24.95/mo with all the features, and if you refer three people that cost becomes free to you. Just thought bloggers like you might be interested in another option.
- Thanks for the great informations, love this site!
