The Heat is on? Certainly it is!! BT is feeling the heat from other VoIP services which are either doling out free or cheap national and international calls. BT has realized this and has gone ahead and reduced the calling rates. BT has dropped the prices for its Together Option 2 and Option 3 by almost a third. Customers opting for the service from 15th August for a period of Eighteen months get a free one year quota of UK evening and weekend calls.
Its VoIP service, Broadband Talk has also followed suit and has seen a drop of prices by nearly thirty percent and is now selling at £4.95 per month. Calling 0845 and 0870 numbers has also become cheaper as the prices have been reduced by half.
I was wondering whether these steps are potent enough to compete with free doses offered by Skype and a host of other providers.
