Can Sightspeed Challenge Skype?
Do you miss video calling and always wish to see your near ones thousands of miles away. Sightspeed which competes with market leader Skype offered video calling in their 2.0 beta version. It offers free PC to PC calling for both audio and video and low rates for PC to phone calls. It is different from Vodafone video calling which can be made on mobile phones over the 3G network. One could also create free video mail, publish them to a video blog and conduct video conference calls with up to three other people. You won't find this feature in Skype.
Their plans are quite tempting. In their free plan one can get Unlimited number of voicemails of thirty seconds in length and stores each for thirty days. The paid plan which costs $4.95 a month or $49.95 yearly offers sixty second videomail for unlimited periods. The only major difference between free and paid plans is that in the former there is no unlimited multi-party video conferencing, except that and support there is not much difference between the two plans.
One of the irritating things that a user might encounter is that while registering for an account the company tries to sell off a camera to you. Finally it can run on Win 2K, Win XP and Mac OSX 10.3.9 or higher. The software can be easily configured so just go ahead and download it guys. It is good.
