EQO Goes Symbian

EQO provides cheap calling using a piece of software on your phone to essentially call EQO's gateway, which will then route the call over VoIP, thus saving you some money. The problem is, the integration wasn't very seamless, being a J2ME application and all that.

Now the folks at EQO have gone and made a (rough) beta for Symbian-all Nokia S60 handsets thus far. The cool thing about being a native app is that now they can integrate with the phone much better-getting rid of a lot of the security prompts. You also get calls properly logged in the call log, better performance, and a lot more.

Of course, EQO is also a great, free, multi-network IM client as well, and the Symbian client sports a better interface. The usual suspects are supported-sans Skype, of course.
