The adoption of VoIP by SMBs was hampered up till now due to absence of an effective fax over IP solution but not now a new, high performance T.38-based business-quality fax over IP service has been introduced by 8×8. There is no need for additional hardware except for the existing fax machine of the company. This service is based on T.38 ITU standard used for sending faxes across IP networks in a real time mode.
Packet8's business fax service plan, Fax Extension is available for $9.99 per month and under this you can avail three hundred outgoing minutes and unlimited incoming minutes. The extra domestic outgoing fax minutes would be billed at 3.5 cents per minute and outgoing international faxes would be charged at Packet8 international rates. Very soon Freedom Fax Standalone fax line service would be made available for residential users.
