Foonz gives you the ability to call a group of your friends from your mobile, but with a twist. It's a bit like the earlier iterations of Jangl where you have to send a text message to get a phone number to call. Where Jangl gave you a number to call one person, Foonz gives you a number to call a group of people.
But the number doesn't really call your group. It sends the group a text message telling them to call a specific number. Instant conference call, or you can schedule it. For people without a mobile phone, you'll have to communicate the "Foonz" number out of band to them.
The other thing Foonz allows you to do is record a message for your friends. It texts your friends the number to call. They can dial in to listen to it.
It's a different idea for sure, but I'm skeptical about the long-term viability of this service. Leave your feelings in the comments.

But you can get your friends called in if you use Bell-Me. It's a bit like inviting people on IM to join a conversation (no text alerts). And it's free if you're all on Skype. Works through your mobile so pretty cool.
