The folks at Gizmo5, formerly Gizmo Project and SIPphone, give you an email address-an email address associated with your Gizmo5 instant messaging. The theory goes that you want to receive an instant notification when, for instance, Woot is selling their latest bag of crap.

Seems like a neat idea, but now my IM will be open to email spam, something I'd rather keep out of my instant messaging, thanks. That and the IM and voice chat in Skype just works better.
