Google 411 for business listings is free
There is no surprise that when ever Google launches some service it is free for all since its main aim is to wipe out the competitors so that it can rule the world of internet and it has succeeded on a number of counts too. Just out from the Google Labs is Google Voice Local Search or Google 411 Experimental. This service gets you local business listings by making toll free calls from any phone. Even though it is free be sure that there would be no advertisements to pester you. The result could even be delivered to you via text messages. Google has been quick to bring it out just a month after Microsoft got hold of TellMe which is a voice query software developer. You might not be able to avail the residential listings for free but don't lose hope on that front since Google may get that for free in the future too.

You can access the service by dialing 1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411). 411 has a huge market with 2.5 billion calls being handled each year generating revenue worth $ 7 billion. Though it may face competition from jingle at first but Google can surely counter that.
