There is a very famous quote in the world of politics 'there is no permanent enemy or friend what is permanent are your interests' and this saying applies very well to the world of business too. It's a known fact that once Skype and Yahoo couldn't stand each other but words are making round that both the companies have shook hands of friendship and will be developing a mobile network using the 700Mhz spectrum. I think this network would be based on VoIP.
As a result both Skype and Microsoft could capitalize on their VoIP and IM user base respectively for offering their services. Yahoo as a company has been known to behave in a neutral manner with its partners but this association with Skype could conflict with its broadband partners. It would be interesting to watch out what results does Yahoo and Skype combo produce.
