How far are we from Google phone?
It was way back in December when I told you that there is a possibility that we might be able to see a phone from Google stable and adding on to it is being said that Andy Rubin, the guy behind Danger and Android which was taken over by Google in 2005 is working along with a team of hundred people for developing the Google phone. Google had even put Regwireless and Skia in its kitty about which a very few people have the information. All this combined has been creating rumor ripples that soon we will see a phone from Google.

The partnership of Google with Samsung also created thoughts in the mind of a number of people that we are inching closer towards a Google phone. My friend Sim has some inside news on what the new phone would be like:

Blackberry-like, slick device
• C++ core w/ OS bootstrap (some version of Linux?)
• Optimized Java running on the C++ core (similar to what Andy did at Danger)
• Vector-based presentation courtesy of Skia's technology
• Many services, including VoIP

I would really appreciate if somebody could rack their brains in creating a prototype design for the phone. Let's hope that all the gossip turns out to be true. I am waiting!!
