Given below are some of the tips which should be kept in mind:
The first thing that is required to be remember is that whenever your credit card company calls you they refer you by your first and last name, in case you are not being referred by your complete name there is a need to get alerted.
Secondly, if you suspect the caller, hang up the phone and call the number given at the back of your credit card and incase the call is legitimate, the company would be aware of it.
Thirdly, one should not call a number given in an e-mail or phone call dealing with security issues of your bank account or credit card. Do call back and check up with your company and in case the call was true your company would be having a record of it and in case it is a vishing call report the particular matter immediately.
Lastly in case you have been vished, don't panic and call your credit card company and report the matter immediately and if it turns out to be a vishing call close that credit card and get yourself issued a fresh card and do check whether the card has been misused or not.
These are some of the few but simple things which must be kept in mind in order to be safe rather than feel sorry.
