NETGEAR has gone ahead and made available Integrated ADSL2+ modem and Wireless Router with Voice (DG834GV) and it is a combo of six products in one which includes Router, ADSL2+ Modem, 802.11g Wireless Access Point, 10/100 Wired LAN Switch, SPI Double Firewall and Voice-over-IP (VoIP). It is a great product and it offers simplicity for home and business networking
What all you can get, it has a high speed 802.11g wireless capability which is five times faster than 802.11b and one could download large files and videoconference and play MP3s, digital movies and photos simultaneously. With regards to VoIP it can convert normal analogue phone signals to digital and send them over broadband which enables one to make and receive calls from their current telephone number. It has a double firewall which secures networks with Network Address Translation and protects networked devices from potential attacks and intruders. Apart from PSTN/FXO ports the connection extends beyond VoIP in order to connect regular phone lines for automatic emergency call routing and backup to PSTN in times of power crises.
The company is offering a two year warranty and 24/7 technical support and the integrated gateway would be available in Australia.
