Is AT&T spying on you?

Filed in archive Companies by gautam on June 26, 2006

As more and more details about the AT&T-NSA jointlinks snooping program get unearthed, the picture gets scary. The program can sneak details regarding email, credit card information, Voip calls to name a few.

AT&T has installed sniffing and wiretapping equipment at various facilities. This entire operation is headed from the AT&T Network Operations Center in Bridgetown. This 20 by 40 room is protected by a highly secure protection i.e. Mantrap. These pieces of information have been revealed by a former AT&T technician, if he is to be believed AT&T can lay its hand on any piece of information from email, Voip, passwords, credit card transactions, browsing information and god knows what more.

Is this information needed for national security, we still have no answer to it as neither AT&T nor NSA are divulging any information.
