Techcrunch breaks the news that Jangl now has a way to sell ads on those free calls it provides via a number of social networks. Jangle Mobile Media Solutions offers advertisers three ways to get in on the fun:
SMS Ads where the ad shows up as part of an SMS being sent through Jangl.
Branded Audio Ads where instead of a normal Ringback tone, you get a "brought to you by your company" message.
Interactive Audio Ads where a call to action is prompted. To quote: "When Jangl customers receive a sponsored message with a call to action, they can respond and receive additional product information, coupons, etc. The additional information is presented immediately via an SMS (Text message), and the customer prompt is facilitated by either shortcode or an IVR (interactive voice response) system."
I am not sure how the last one will work in practice-perhaps as an add-on to the previous two. Maybe it's a good time to talk with Jangl's PR folks again. Or heck, maybe they'll be at Spring VON.x next week, and I can just ask them in person?

Hi Dameon,
In fact, we will be at Spring VON — Michael is moderating a panel there at 3 pm on 3/20 — “Tossing the Digits to Add Anonymity.” That makes sense, since privacy was our first focus. I’ll drop you a line and perhaps we can chat prior to then. Take care!
