Lawsuit might be slapped on Vodafone for blocking VoIP on Nokia N 95
It seems that not many people are happy with the decision of Vodafone to exclude VoIP from Nokia N 95 and as a result the company may soon face a lawsuit over its decision to block VoIP. Truphone does not seem to be happy over the decision of the company and is therefore considering its position. Even Skype is not permitted on this phone and all this surely goes against the EU competition regulations. Though operators claim that they can decide on the software on the handsets but a number of experts feel that the handsets provided by the operator do not come under the purview of the contract.

In around half of the countries operator subsidy is illegal and in Australia Vodafone has promised that it will not bar VoIP in Nokia N 95 sold in the country. In countries where subsidy is legal it has been restricted. It looks that we may soon see a lawsuit from one of the VoIP companies against Vodafone for blocking VoIP.
