Make Free Calls on LiveJournal with Gizmo

live journal.png

You all know that click to call VoIP services are being integrated into websites for facilitating peer to peer voice communications among users and the latest example of this is LiveJournal which has integrated Gizmo VoIP service into its website. The website claims that it is the first major social networking site which has adopted VoIP for ensuring instant live communications between users.

Now you just need a click of the mouse to connect with LiveJournal users. You will also able to call cell phones, send IM and conduct conference calls. Voice posts is an attractive feature which has been included and users can access messages when they are away from their system. You will also get to know when a person is online or offline.

Make free calls between all Gizmo/LJ Talk and Gizmo Project users and also send IMs to Google Talk, LJ or Jabber. Now let us see whether VoIP on networking sites would be a boon or bane. Considering the fact that sexual predators are roaming freely on the internet it would be possible to control them and record call without requiring the permission of the person on the other side. On the flip side you might become the victim of a vishing attack. It could have an adverse impact on telecom companies and smaller VoIP companies. It makes us wonder whether only those companies would survive which have a deal with the website.

Apart from all this one thing is for sure that VoIP would certainly climb the popularity charts.
