Microsoft and Its VoIP Efforts
Now it's the turn of Microsoft to plunge into the pool of VoIP. It has gone ahead and unveiled its Unified Communication Product Roadmap and Partner Ecosystem. As per the product road map changes in the product lines are required in order to better integrate voice features with Microsoft's business software. The roadmap has several new capabilities and name changes, Office Communications Server 2007 has replaced Live Communications Server and has added presence-based VoIP call management, Web, audio, and videoconferencing to IM features.

microsoft office Communicator would be having a VoIP softphone and Web, audio and video conferencing. A product named Exchange 2007 Unified Messaging would be offering a unified e-mail and voice mail inbox and speech based access. The company would also be updating Live Meeting, adding VoIP, video, and e-learning support.

All the best Microsoft!!
