Net2Phone Accuses Skype of Patent Infringement
When will Skype get out of legal tangles? Earlier it had to face a lawsuitlinks from Streamcast and now Net2Phone has gone ahead and filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Skype Technologies SA. The company is claiming that Skype has infringed its patent on point to point internet calling. This has resulted in a loss of an unspecified amount of money for Net2Phone. The company has filed a suit in U.S. District Court in Newark.

The patent which is being questioned is NetPhone's patent number 704. It is seeking a permanent injunction and an unspecified amount of damages. Net2Phone has been in this business for a very long period of time and they have enjoyed a very good reputation in this trade but does that mean they would be able to win the suit against Skype?
