Nokia 770 Adds VoIP and IM

Nokia has unveiled the upgraded version of its Nokia 770 Internet tablet which features Google Talk that would enable users to speak to each other over the internet and send instant messages. The upgradation supports SIP based VoIP solutions.

The enhanced features include:

• Improved memory performance
• Refreshing look
• Enhanced text typing along with full screen finger keyboard

According to Ari Virtanen, V.P., Nokia's Convergence Product:

The Internet Tablet OS 2006 edition features pre-installed Google Talk and Jabber compatibility for Instant Messaging as well as Google Talk compatibility for Internet calling. This will give Nokia Internet Tablet users the power to instantly communicate with people, both through instant messaging and Voice over IP.

The tablet is a Wi-Fi enabled device which has been optimized for internet communications in a slim pocket size format. It features a high resolution 4.13" widescreen display with zoom and on-screen, full screen finger keyboard or handwriting recognition which is perfect for viewing online content over Wi-Fi.
