Niklas Zennstrom stated:
The new service is a mash-up of Skype VOIP and eBay Inc. ecommerce application PayPal. Together the two make something like Western Union for the VOIP Age. This is brewing in the Skype oven and will come out very shortly.
The service is aimed at immigrants using VoIP and this would help them in transferring money earned to their families back home. Now very soon Skype users will be able to see Send Money in the menu option and all you will need to do is sign in and enter the amount you would like to transfer to the other person using PayPal.
It seems with Skype eBay wants to make Paypal a dominant name in e-commerce business and end all challenges being posed by Google with its new payment service. Skype is all success and eBay wants to ride on this success and bring its other businesses too in the limelight with the market leader.
