Phreedom from Gupp – the cost conscious phone

Do you like the phone on the left? This is Phreedom from Gupp Technologies, yes you read it correctly and this is how it is spelled. This Linux based dual mode Wi-Fi GSM/GPRS phone has been equipped with a 2.5 inch QVGA color screen along with a Treo style QWERTY keyboard. This phone has VoWiFi or voice-over-WiFi capabilities based on SIP standard. Aimed at cost conscious people this phone is expected to bring down your roaming costs with the aid of VoWiFi.

For a change this phone has a landscape mode 2.5 inch QVGA LCD display screen with 256K colors. You can also use your phone for other web features such as e-mail, browsing and music download. This phone has a whopping 144 hours of standby which traveling people would really appreciate. The phone is expected to use VoIP stack from Hellosoft. The company will start shipping the phone in the second quarter of 2007. Pricing of the phone is not yet available.
