In the past few months a number of Skype worm attacks have been surfacing and their modus operandi has been quite similar – a malicious link is sent to the user which on being clicked runs an executable file and hence infects their computers. On earlier occasions too I had warned you about Skype worm attacks. Check them here and here.
Spywareguide reports that a new type of Skype Worm infection binaries are making round. You will be sent a .pif file in the guise of a tempting pic with a malicious link and in case you decide to run the file get ready for a number of files in your System32 and Windows folder. This is not the end as the worm checks for other programs such as Yahoo Messenger, Trillian, AIM, miranda and ICQ. Though the main target is Skype but other networks cannot feel safe. Now that Skype and Paypal have been integrated you might see attacks like these increasing with the motive of stealing funds.

Funny how Donohue’s point seems to be being made as this post devolved from discussing goodness for goodness’ sake vs religion demading that you be good, to gay rights and gay bashing, violent content and freewheeling epithets. I always thought of myself as a fun loving atheist. Can’t we all just get along?
