Pykse.A worm strikes Skype
The popular VoIP application Skype is under a worm threat. Dubbed as Pykse.A it spreads by sending a message with malware link to all the people in the Skype contact list with the aid of Skype API. The status of the Skype user would be set to Do Not Disturb before the message is sent and users of the call would not be notified. Once you have clicked the link you are redirected to download the malware file. In order to counter any kind of suspicion after you have downloaded and executed the file you will treated to an image of scantily dressed women.

The worm also gets you to certain sites and it seems that the motive behind this malware is to increase advertising revenues probably by increasing artificial hits to these websites. On earlier occasion too Skype has faced security threats and now once again the question arises as to how safe is Skype for making VoIP calls.
