Skype and Intel join hands for promoting VoIP on computers

Skype and Intel have joined hands for increasing the popularity of VoIP. In this joint marketing campaign efforts are being made for presenting the PC as 'a central and reliable platform for voice and video calling over the Internet.' Both the companies are enticing computer owners in Canada and US to enjoy the power of VoIP and under a joint marketing strategy are offering free global calling under the Gift of Gab offer for a day on the eve of Mother's Day. This is the first instance where SkypeOut calls have been made free for US and Canada Skype customers.

Skype is using this opportunity to increase their customer base and get the message across to the customers that making calls using computer is as easy as making calls using a phone. This campaign is aimed to get over the fear of people who consider computer as the last option for making calls and think that they don't offer any ease of use.

Thus ambitious marketing campaign is aimed at changing the mindset of the people who cant imagine using computers for making calls and if the message gets across to the target audience then both the companies have a lot to gain. Click here to get more information.
