Skype is in news again but this time for a right reason. eBay would be integrating Skype into its auction service in order to facilitate communication between buyers and sellers on the site. There are also plans for using Skype for launching a pay per lead ad system for the purpose of increasing revenue on the site.
CEO Meg Whitman has termed the integration of Skype and PayPal with eBay as the power of three. Skype would be helping eBay in accomplishing one of its chief Missions i.e. to help connect buyers and sellers in a simple manner with an element of trust. As far as the ad system is concerned. eBay would be using Skype for creating a pay per call model with sellers in various categories paying for each customer brought to them via voice communication.
Hmmm. Smart move eBay for generating new sources of revenue!!
