Slot Car Racing With a Dash of VoIP
Filed in archive New Application by gautam on January 07, 2007

Asterisk is being deployed for taking in the phone data and spit it out to a Java based soft phone. What Christopher Paretti has done is that when a soft phone takes in a SIP stream from which amplitude data is taken, it is scaled and sent serially to an Arduino board.

Your voice patterns are converted into power waves which control the slot cars so the greater you use your lungs to shout into the phone the faster your car will run and don't stop to catch some breath as your car will stop and who would want to lose.

Chris has made an effort towards bringing some life to slot car racing which we have been enjoying since our childhood and he has definitely succeeded in making it interesting. This game will certainly bring smiles on the face of both children and adults alike.
