I'll have to say, this is the most, um, interesting use of VoIP tech yet. You really have to see it to believe it. This enterprising young lady, Christine Marie, aka Mrs. Gingerbread, a former K teacher, started a thriving business as an entertainer/educator using a gingerbread puppet as her muse. Now, she sells her DVDs and hosts a television show (in the style of Sharon, Lois and Bram) full-time.
But, the oddest thing, is that she's launched a VoIP network, the aptly-named SweetTalk, that's similar to a party line/story line with vidcast abilities ta boot. And, she's partnered with a former phone freaker, John Draper, aka Captain Crunch, to launch this thing (I'm loving all the aka's here).
"The phones started ringing, and she's been talking ever since," says producer Tolga Katas. Katas, who is also a MAC developer and president of Appian Inc., introduced Marie to John Draper, a.k.a. Captain Crunch, who first became famous for "phone phreaking," or outsmarting the telco's with a bluebox tone generator in the 1970's. Draper, now a MAC developer for the WhitePhone brandable VoIP software, taught Marie about VoIP.
You'll also need to check out his other branded WhitePhone ventures, like KanTalk. KanTalk is a similar set-up, but aimed at music-loving teens. Kandice Melonakos is a teen singer that hosts this VoIP chat.
I tell you, the world just keeps surprising me.

Really? Wow! I’ve never thought things will turrn out that way for Christine Marie. She’s lucky!
She’s definitely tapped into a lucrative business. Her sweet talk and gingerbread puppets are pretty popular in Las Vegas.
Nice to see someone making money there w/o disrobing
