TalkPlus- A Premier Voice 2.0 Example
Here comes an exclusive mobile phone service from TalkPlus which leverages identity management, VoIP and a host of other advanced business processes which not only enhances your mobile experience but at the same time enables privacy controls. The beta service would be launched around November and the company has been working on this technology since the year 2004.

What will TalkPlus do for you? It offers the mobile phone users a second virtual number with privacy and powerful accessibility and you can make economical international calls from your cell phone which was up till now never heard off in the wireless phone space. You get a pleasurable calling experience with it which makes it a very good example of Voice 2.0 application.

With it you can add additional domestic and international telephone numbers and get a local presence number worldwide. For people trying to reach you it would be a local call for them and in case you call back that number it would be using the CallerID phone number of the number the person dialed. Tom states that it is ideal for dating as one can give their secondary number and not the main one and I totally agree with him. Also the company would be supporting throwaway numbers so if need arises you could even ditch the number. This reminds us of what we call CallerID spoofing. TalkPlus also meets the CALEA and E911 compliance. There is this Do-Not-Disturb/Priority Call Lists feature using which you can filter the calls as per your needs. You also get individual voicemail boxes so your outgoing messages can be easily customized. Also you can setup inexpensive group and conference calling, all you need to do is define your group and when you would like to make the call, the system would automatically dial the numbers. One more thing the company has built their own Skype gateway i.e. they have reverse engineered Skype's protocol. The company would be introducing a free beta which would be including a free DID number and free termination. Expect the service to be priced in the range of $10 a month which would be including a virtual number, a certain amount of fixed minutes besides all the features.

Now you can manage your professional and personal life with a single phone. Certainly it seems to be an impressive service.
