Here comes another mobile voip service, Talkster. The service is in the alpha stage as of now. With it you will be able to make cheap long distance calls without requiring to download any new software. When compared to Jajah, this service enables the call to be originated from the handset without requiring any download client. Like Rebtel, this service does not require any special number to be created and mapped.
With Talkster, you can terminate your call on any client and get to know whether the person is online or not. It's quite simple to use, just browse the available contacts and make a call. Another feature to look for is the web service interface which would enable the Talkster system to be driven from an application. This feature is expected to make Talkster a long term player in the web world.
The service is based on the VoIM platform and you can test their service by submitting your e-mail on their website.
