Truphone: Finally, Real VoIP on the iPhone!

This iPhone was used to make a completely IP-based call at the DEMO conference. Who did it? None other than the guys at Truphone.

This isn't in usable form yet. This was a "proof of concept." You can see in the video, however, that it replaces the normal "phone" application with one that was VoIP-aware. I can't imagine it will be long before they turn this into a real end-user installable application.

    This all sounds good! What will Apple say when a small start-up uses a hack to open their phone and overide their partners, such as O2…
    I smell a lawsuit.
