Lingo claims that it is the first VoIP provider which is offering unlimited calls to Mexico. Dubbed the Unlimited Mexico VoIP plan, it provides the customers with the opportunity for using their broadband Internet Connections and phones to call family and business associates in Mexico for a flat charge of $29.95 per month. The plan offers unlimited phone calls to Canada and U.S.
Lingo is claiming that it is offering more options for calling to and from Mexico as compared to other major broadband internet phone service available.
Given below is the offer of Lingo:
Subscription to Lingo's Unlimited Mexico plan is free for the first month, and $29.95 per month thereafter. The plan includes unlimited calls to Mexico (landline), unlimited local and long distance calls in the U.S. and to Canada (including Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands), competitive rates to 200+ other international locations, unlimited calls between Lingo customers and other points.
This Mexican plan is one of the unlimited Lingo VoIP calling plans designed for residential and small/home-based businesses, starting at $7.95 and available free for the first month.
Is Lingo trying to ape Skype or is it just the beginning of another VoIP war?

As of July 3, 2006 the Lingo plan is now $104.49 per month including tax for the Mexico Unlimited plan. After waiting on hold for 52 minutes I asked what was going on. They told me they have been sending emails since May informing customers of the change in price. The reason for the change is because customers were “abusing” the Mexico plan. How you can do that I am not sure. Maybe they got more customers than they were expecting and they got greedy. I wish BroadVoice would offer Mexico in their huge list of countries!

Unfortunately, What Lingo says about having been the first to offer Unlimited Mexico Calling is not true in the following forms
1) it never was unlimited it was more like Flat Rate, but clearly NOT unlimited.
2) Supernettel.com has offered Flat Rate Mexico Calling longer than any other provider, and continues to offer it.
lingo is just a ripoff company stay away from them.. i was with then for to years with mexico unlimited.. they started at 30.00 a month then 50.00 then 100.00 til i finally gave up on them they just want to take advantage of people and they have the worst customer service around just like voyage does… they are sorry and they have an accent..too… hahaha
I’m surprised to read these comments. I have TWO services from Lingo for over 2 years now for $30 each and have had no problems with these. I strongly recommend Lingo.
Lingo cut their plan without informing their customers. I got a surprise $130 bill (extra). I’m cutting my service yesterday and filing with the Better Business Bureau
I got the same exact surprise as Mike Talbert, the bastards only credited back a small amount of money in “lingo credits”
