North American Skype users were having a party up till now with free SkypeOut service but now the party is over as Skype is charging for the service. From Jan 1, 2007 the service would be available at a price with unlimited calls within the region along with an hour of international calling. The average cost of an International call would be 2.1 cents per minute depending upon the country and phone called.
If you subscribe for the service till the 31st of January, 2007 then you need to pay $14.95 per year but after that the charges would be $29.95 per year. This is the first instance where the Skype service is available for less than $15. The free offer was going on since May this year and U.S and Canada users were allowed to make unlimited calls.
I believe that free calls must have left people addicted to it and now they would not able to resist this offer even if it is paid.
