V-CLICK Dual Mode Phones From D-Link

V-CLICK Dual Mode Phones From D-Link

D-Link has announced the latest range of V-CLICK dual mode phones which enables users to switch between mobile and Wi-Fi networks with a push of a button. With this you would be able to make VoIP calls at Wi-Fi hotspots and save on your monthly bill. This is the first dual mode offering from the D-Link stable.

As far as its features are concerned it has a two inch 176×220 pixel color screen, is 4.17×1.73x.75 inches in size and has a 24 MB storage space. The Mobile browser supported by the phone is Opera Mobile. With this phone users can use their existing GSM SIM cards and would also be able to activate a configurable wireless and SIP profile. This would be a pay as you go device so users would be required to purchase call minutes from their service providers. Expect this phone to be available during the first quarter of 2007 and it would also have a tri band GSM and 802.11 Wi-Fi access. It would be available at a price of $599.99.

I am not impressed with its small screen and surfing the internet would be a big ordeal on it. The talktime hours offered by it is also not much- just five hours on GSM mode and two hours on Wi-Fi mode. To me the phone seems to be priced steeply.
