VoIP has reached your dressing rooms. Yes, this is true! In the dressing rooms of Mitsukoshi VoIP phones have been installed so that customers can check inventory level of clothes and call for more pieces in case they don't like it or they don't fit them.
In the store you could find employees waiting outside the dressing rooms for further instructions to bring in more pieces of clothing. Customers are required to scan the clothing so that they could check the inventory level displayed on the RFID reader equipped Cisco phone's touchscreen display. In return you get to know the details of the similar products along with their color, size and inventory status. After selecting a particular product, the customer hits the button and the phone with the sales associate buzzes and gets to know the requirements of the particular dressing room.
VoIP was chosen because it not only runs in a smooth manner but is cost effective as compared to a multimedia kiosk. The VoIP set up costs between $700 to $800 as compared to a touchscreen kiosk that is priced between $20,000 to $25,000.
