While waiting for my vet to call me to the back yesterday I noticed that she had a VoIP system in her office. I was pretty shocked. My vet's office is pretty small and doesn't seem to ever be overly busy. I guess in my mind I had assumed that VoIP systems were better for larger or busier businesses. I'd honestly never thought of my vet's office as a business for some reason.
When the vet finally called be to the back i mentioned the VoIP system to her. She was happy to talk about her experiences with it. She said it was one of the best purchases she had ever made for her office. There was a line set up specifically for customers who wanted to refill pet meds, a line for customers who needed appointments, and an emergency line. The price was far more efficient than her previous service and it helped to keep things organized.
I guess I never accounted for all of the customers who were calling day in and day out. The customers that were in the office only accounted for a small portion of the overall customer sect for Dr. Smith. This meant that her business was actually perfect for a VoIP system.
