VoIP to Be a Part of Microsoft's Operating System

Here is some latest development from the Microsoft stable. In the coming year expect Microsoft to enter the VoIP market. The company is planning to target the server software market which would enable video conferencing and voice conversations over internet networks.

Steve Ballmer, CEO, Microsoft said at a Microsoft conference held in Tokyo:

We are going to enter the voice over IP market (in) the beginning of next year.

Though the company has earlier released a number of software with VoIP functionality but this would be the first time that VoIP would be a part of operating system, server software and desktop applications of the company. It would be combined with video, e-mail and IM.
