The patent battle is getting murkier as Vonage was stopped from signing up new customers by a federal judge but later on it was granted relief in this matter. The company was able to secure temporary Stay in this matter from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The stay came a few hours after Vonage was barred from signing up new customers.
Vonage has been claiming that it has an alternative technology which in no way would create conflict with Verizon and its high time that it should unveil it. Vonage was once regarded as a frontrunner in the field of VoIP but the public issue debacle and law suits have really battered it. The survival of the company seems to be in doldrums but it looks as if Vonage is confused at this point of time and it doesn't know where it should head for. If this confusion doesn't get out of Vonage head soon it will surely get out of the VoIP race. Also at this point of time I don't think that many people would be willing to sign up for their service.

Vonage already spent so much on advertising and they are not yet profitable. If this lawsuit keeps going, Vonage will eventually burn all the cash they have.
