Vonage seeks public support for fighting Verizon
Up till now vonage was fighting against Verizon in court only but now Vonage has filed its petition in the court of general public i.e. it is defending itself among the public. It has started a newspaper ad campaign stating that Verizon was only trying to kill competition with this court battle.

Vonage states in the web site:

If this case stands, it threatens not only Vonage, but potentially the entire competitive VoIP industry.

The company claims that if Verizon succeeds in killing the competition then at the end of the day the customers would have to suffer too. Vonage says that Verizon has itself admitted that it is using the patent battle for screwing the competitors. The company even says that it has been a people's company which has never raised prices like Verizon and has always served the customers. It seems that Vonage knows that it would surely lose the battle in the court and now it is using the last trick in its bag so that it can improve its image among the public and use their support for fighting out Verizon till their last breath.
