Jeffrey Citron, CEO,Verizon stated:
We believe we have workable designs for the two name translation patents and intend to begin deploying the solution to our customers shortly; In addition, we are continuing our development of the workaround for the wireless patent.
The translation patents in question refer to the techniques for conversion of phone calls between traditional numbers and IP addresses. The company tried hands at generating public sympathy and after that even asked the court for retrial of the case but failed on all counts and now it has decided to work out some solution but I am not still not convinced whether Vonage will be able to get out of the trap laid by Verizon or not. It has been stating that they would figure out something but still no concrete results have been achieved. Lets hope this time Vonage is able to live up to its words.
