RaNo software has come up with an interesting program for the Palm OS. Called WiFiTalkie, it enables you to use your handheld like a Walkie-Talkie 2-way radio. It uses VoIP for broadcasting audio data and the program supports full duples mode which enables you to broadcast and receive voice simultaneously. Additional functions available are noise if no transmission, push-to-talk switch and beep after each transmission which makes it look like a genuine walkie-talkie.

So what all is required are two or more compatible devices with a broadband network connection and the handhelds must have Wi-Fi connections. It supports most of the Palm OS 5+ Sony Clie models and the LifeDrive and Palm TX and other Palm Branded models which might work with the Palm Wi-Fi SD card. The trial version is free and the full version costs only $14.95.
