The folks at PamConsult are currently beta testing an Skype Extra called PamFax. This extra allows you to send a Microsoft Office 2003 or Microsoft Office 2007 document via fax. This is for those people-or businesses-who haven't joined the 21st Century just yet.
The only time I've ever had to use a fax machine in recent memory was when we were involved in a real estate purchase. The rest of the time-even for business-our fax machine is not used. Email has effectively taken the place of the fax.
