Skype 4.0 Beta: All About Video

Skype recently released a 4.0 beta version of their VoIP and instant messaging client for WIndows. It incorporates a new user interface that seems to focus more on video than on the IM or voice features. More from this video:

Jim Courtney over at Skype Journal suggests not installing this beta on your production machine. Dan York questions whether or not the UI improvements will help or hurt them, thanks to the wide use of the UI, Andy Abramson thinks that there's a lot more going on with this client redesign than meets the idea.

Me? Looks like I'll give it a try-on a virtual machine. Being a Mac guy, I probably won't use it until there's an equivalent Mac version.
