Skype has released the Skype v2.6 beta. You will find the following new things in this new version:

• Find and join Skypecasts in live tab.
• Click to call ordinary phone numbers on any website
• Share your favorite links in mood message. They're clickable.
• Search the web with the Google Toolbar (optional install)

This is the beta version and the company states that this version is meant only for experienced users. Click here to download it.

My friend Tom Keating has learnt from a number of sources at ITEXPO that the next big release would be Skype 3.0 beta which would be available from the middle of November and it would be a plug in support. He further stated that it would be a simply a tab within the Skype 3.0 application and would be listing several popular Skype third party add ons. Certainly it looks to me to be a cool thing as Skype users would get hold of some of the best third party Skype applications. Skype is always doing something or the other and this makes it leader in the industry.
