Truphone facing T-Mobile wrath?
Filed in archive Companies by on June 20, 2007

is trying to bump off cheap mobile phone calls with its 'T-Mobile policy decision' and the target of this policy seems to be Truphone. Not only Truphone but other companies who would like to enter the mobile VoIP arena will suffer as a result. Here are some of the effects of the policy of T-Mobile:
T-Mobile has refused to interconnect with mobile VoIP provider.Truphone: T-Mobile customers making a call to Truphone's number range (07978 8xxxxx) will not be connected.
T-Mobile refuses to interconnect with operators offering VoIP as a
matter of policy.
However T-Online Ventures, the venture capital arm of T-Mobile's
parent company Deutsche Telekom, has just invested in VoIP provider
Jajah; T-Mobile connects with BT Fusion, a VoIP service; and T-Mobile
has also announced a trial of a VoIP service in USA and Germany.
Recently Orange and Vodafone too had omitted VoIP from Nokia N95 handsets which triggered a lot of hue and cry on their decision. Most of the companies feel that rather than fighting competition they should kill it and T-Mobile is no different. Now it's the turn of regulation authorities to step in to set things right and ensure that healthy competition takes place in the world of communication.
