VoIP with IBM Lotus Sametime 7.5

IBM would be integrating VoIP and video conferencing features into a new version of their collaboration platform IBM Lotus Sametime version 7.5. This upgradation would also enable the platform users to collaborate with IM communication clients such as Yahoo! and AOL. It also has plans with Google to connect lotus Samtime and Gtalk users.

It would be featuring embedded VoIP that would allow users to talk directly through their computers with a click of a mouse. This platform would also be having a new web based conferencing interface which would allow multiple presenters to edit or modify their presentations during a web conference. It would also have a SIP based real time collaboration gateway which would ensure manageability of enterprise to enterprise and enterprise to public network connections in an efficient manner.

Lotus Sametime users would also be able to connect with users of AIM, AOL, ICQ and Apple iChat IM services. It would be available from mid of 2006 but the price has not been announced till yet.

    Hi – We have developed a SIP softphone integrated into IBM Lotus Notes 6/7/8 and IBM Lotus Sametime. is-phone is certified for IP PBX from 3Com, Avaya, Nortel and Siemens and tested with Asterisk, Alcatel, Cisco and others. There is a free trial on our website http://www.iscoord.com.

    IBM SUT is announced and will be presented @ Lotusphere 2009. You need at least 3 servers to run IBM Sametime Unified Telephony: Sametime Server, SUT TAS and SUT TCS server.
